She is the former world No. 1 in singles, leading the Women's Tennis Association rankings on July 17, 2017 and holding this position for 8 weeks. She is currently ranked 9th in the World as of April 2021 and has consistently ranked in the top 10 since the end of 2016. On October 31, 2016, she reached 11th World position in the doubles chart. Known for its strong serve and handedness, Plíšková has won 16 singles and five doubles titles on the WTA tour, 10 singles and six doubles titles in the ITF Awards, and over 20 million prize dollars. She reached her first Grand Slam final and to date, is the only Grand Slam final at the 2016 US Open, where she was beaten by Angelique Kerber in straight sets. As a junior, Plíšková won the women's singles championship at the 2010 Australian Open, beating Laura Robson in the final. She also played for the Czech Republic in the Fed Cup competition.
